Quality & Care
Made to Last
Every piece at ANINE BING is thoughtfully sourced—using the highest quality leather, silk, cashmere, and denim. We offer these quality materials to create wardrobe essentials that empower. Unique in their duality, our clothes offer both a classic and current approach to dressing that sits at the crossroads between masculine and feminine, simple yet bold. Below you’ll find tips on how to care for each material so that your new item can become even more treasured with time.
- Protect your bags and shoes from stains by coating them in a leather or suede protectant.
- Gently wipe the exterior of your item with a soft, dry cloth every week to maintain polish and clear away any debris.
- Store away from direct sunlight using your ANINE BING dust bag whenever possible to avoid potential color fading.
- Our leather breaks in over time so embrace change and know that a little wear and tear is natural.
- To preserve the shape of shoes, try stuffing clean socks in the toes. The material from the socks will also work to soak up any excess moisture from being absorbed into the leather.
- Give them a brushing: Wipe debris off boots and shoes weekly with a stiff-bristled brush. A toothbrush works too! Use even, downward strokes in one direction from the top of the opening to the toe.
- If you can, try to avoid wearing your suede shoes during rainy weather.
- We recommend having your pieces professionally cleaned at the start of each season.
- To keep coats clean, brush material with a bristle suede brush to wick stains and oil away.
- To remove stains, use a damp cloth to pat the fabric or problem area lightly. If 100% wool, you can add a small amount of gentle detergent.
- For knits we recommend using extremely mild detergent or mild shampoo.
- Hand wash knits using cold water only.
- Never put your knits in the dryer. To remove excess water place the item on a white cotton towel, fold the towel over, then gently blot.
- Always lay knits flat to dry.
- Once completely dry, hang on a solid hanger to keep the garment’s form.
- Wash inside out in cold water with gentle detergent to preserve coloring or place inside a large ziplock bag and leave in the freezer for a week to remove bacteria without water.
- Avoid using detergent with brighteners.
- Air dry or tumble dry on low in the dryer with a dryer sheet.
- Expect natural wear and fading especially around the thigh and back of knee or elbow areas.
- We recommend dry cleaning all silk pieces. Hand washing can sometimes lead to the material feeling stiff. If you prefer to wash pieces yourself, follow our care instructions below:
- Use extremely mild detergent or mild shampoo.
- Hand wash in cold water.
- Never wring silk items or put them in the dryer. To remove excess water place the item on a white cotton towel, fold the towel over, then gently blot.
- Hang the garment on a padded hanger to drip dry.
- Avoid hanging in the sun as the light can increase fading.
